J Crew Regional Sample Sale {coming soon!}

A big "thanks!" to Em who shared the following {fantastic} news with us! J.Crew is hosting a "Regional Sample Sale" in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This event takes place July 16-25.

I have a feeling this Sample Sale will not be like the ones held in NYC. (Which is a good thing. Those NYC ones are crappy.) I am so jealous of those living near by!

J.Crew's 9th Sample Sale {going on now!}

As mentioned previously (refer to the "J.Crew's 9th Sample Sale {is it 9? I am starting to lose track!}" post) ClothingLine (click here) is currently hosting yet another J.Crew sample sale in NYC.

This sale started this week! For the event's days/hours:

Monday, June 28th (10 am - 7 pm)
Tuesday, June 29th (10 am - 7 pm)
Wednesday, June 30th (10 am - 7 pm)
Thursday, June 31st (10 am - 7 pm)

What to expect at J.Crew's latest sample sale:

- for Men, Women, & Kids
- limited assortment for Men
- limited availability in crewcuts
- summer apparel, footwear, swim & jewelry
- huge selection of Women's swimwear, beach dresses, sandals & flip flops
- mostly stock

- The fitting room will be closed for the duration of this sale. Footwear try-ons only.

- Our entrance and selling floor closes 10 minutes prior to close of store.

I mentioned this before, but this event is so not worth it unless you happen to be in the area. I have gone to a couple of them and they were all the same. Crappy. Although the last one I went to, I did get one item & one item only... the {gorgeous} Mila Gown (Item 11729; $495.00) for $75. And that one purchase was totally worth my visit. ;)

I posted the following before (refer here), but it's worth posting it again:

Some tips and advice for these kind of sales:

• The majority of items for sale are items rejected from customers during the X previous Sample Sales. So, check clothes for holes and stains.
• The shoe section will be divided by size which is convenient. See a pair of shoes, grab it and try on later. Seriously, the shoe section sells the good stuff quickly.
• That last point brings me to another tip I learned from fellow customers... the really good stuff we never see. I was told that the ClothingLine employees get "first dibs" and buy all the sweet merchandise before the doors even open. Great.
• Keep expectations in check. I went to 2 Sample Sales hoping to snag some great finds like a Jaime Bag for cheap. Totally did not happen. Most shoppers barely buy and those who do only get a handful of items because the items there are just okay (especially for the price points).
  
• Think hard whether you want it before you buy it. Most items can be bought for a lower price point with some patient stalking online and in-stores. (Moreover, items from J.Crew will come in better condition than the Sample Sale.)

J.Crew Warehouse Sales {oh my!}

J.Crew's Clearance Store in Lynchburg, Virgina is having a major Warehouse Sale. This event takes place this weekend as well as one a few weeks from now:

J.Crew Clearance Center Warehouse Sale {this weekend!}

A big "thanks!" to SC Crew who shared the following {fantastic} news with us!

J.Crew's Clearance Store in in Arden, North Carolina is having a major warehouse sale. This event takes place this weekend:

Saturday, March 27th (10AM to 4PM)
Sunday, March 28th (10AM to 4PM)

"Thanks!" again to SC Crew who also shares the following insightful observations with us:

It's definitely worth the trip, but some notes:

1. Wear a tank top and tights if you want to try stuff on. There are no dressing rooms and you get a better idea of the fit this way.
2. Be prepared to sift through boxes. Look at items very carefully as many have rips or stains. Lots of samples too.
3. All sizes!! Men, Women, Crewcuts, shoes, accessories
4. They will give you a price sheet and a garbage bag when you walk in. My advice, stuff anything you think you are interested in and go through it later.
5. If you are going to the Clearance Store too, you can't take your Warehouse purchase in. You also can't take your Clearance Store purchase in the Warehouse store.
6. Take a credit card and leave everything else in the car. You need both hands for this adventure!
7. Keep looking. Stuff gets thrown back in the boxes all the time!

From what I hear, this sale is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! As mentioned in the December 8th "J.Crew Clearance Center Warehouse Sale {drool-worthy}" post, refer also to DinaGideon's "J.Crew Clearance Center, Arden, NC...It Is as Awesome as it Should Be!!!" post over at her {phenomenal} My Superfluities blog.

The prices & quality of merchandise are nothing like the ridiculous NYC sample sales. The warehouse typically offers reasonable prices for better quality items, some of which are still in-season. :)

J.Crew's 8th Sample Sale Coming Soon {didn't see that coming, did you?}

• The items mentioned above (like the Cotton Trench Coat) will be limited in sizes & number available. For the last sale, they kept touting a pea coat for $100. When I got there (on the first day of the sale too!), there were like 5 of the coats in size 4 and 6 (which are not my sizes). Thanks for nothing.
  
• The shoe section will be divided by size which is convenient. See a pair of shoes, grab it and try on later. Seriously, the shoe section sells the good stuff quickly.
