The Robot Flower Girl!

We were going to write up a big ol' article about this couple who had a robot flower girl at their wedding, but we decided to just let the pictures do the talking. Cast your eyes on this flower-blowing machine that was built by the bride's sister, Laurel, for the wedding of Allegra Fullerton and Andy Fischer. The sister was a mechanical engineer grad student at Stanford and was inspired to create it since the marrying couple didn't know any young children to act as flower child or ring bearer.



Driving WeddingBot was pretty straightforward. The amount the stick was tilted forward or back determined the overall speed and the left/right position determined how much it would veer left or right at that speed.


Holding the trigger button would turn on the fan so that flowers would launch out. The back button would switch left/right turn commands to make driving the robot towards you more intuitive


For the record, The Flower Girl even took a turn on the dancefloor. Who doesn't love a techy wedding!

Steampunk Wedding Cake

Don't you just love the Victorian influence and the attention to detail in this unique steampunk wedding cake created by Amanda from Venus Cakes!

The cake was originally made for the WeddingTV Great Cake Bake and was obviously entered into the steampunk category.


We absolutely love the perfect lacings at the back and the entire cake is a cog-filled drop-jaw wonder.



Steampunk is a genre of fantasy which came into prominence in the 1980’s/90’s. It incorporates elements of the Victorian era such as steam power but also encompasses Victorian clothing such as corsets.

The "Garage" Wedding

Ben Alty and Karolina Nowakowska, both from the UK, decided they didn't want to start married life together in debt so they did what any serious thrifty bride and groom would do...they held their wedding reception in a converted garage.

The budget-cutting couple spent just £1,000 on their big day. The bride's gown was bought on the cheap from a charity Cancer research shop. They also saved a ton of money because the celebration rings were Ben's great grandmother's and grandfather's.

A five-course wedding breakfast for 25 was held at Ben's parents' house, with the reception being held in a converted garage.

The couple's biggest extravagance was £250 on champagne and other booze for the party - all bought during two-for-one supermarket promotions.

Man Converts 1942 Truck Into A Hot-Rod Wedding Chapel On Wheels

If you're looking for a non-traditional wedding ceremony, look no further than Reverend Darrell Best's hot-rod chapel on wheels. Complete with stained-glass windows, a pipe organ and an altar, Reverend Darrell Best says he has everything he needs in his converted 1942-edition American La France fire engine to wed willing and daring couples.

Although the reverend offers a more traditional wedding ceremony at his brick and mortar chapel, Best Wedding Chapel, in Shelbyville, Illinois, he says it's the truck that gets the most attention.

Best charges a $200 fee plus $2 per mile. He’s performed four marriages and one renewal thus far.

Bride Breaks Guinness Record With World's Longest Wedding Dress

It took guests more than three hours to roll out the gown of Lin Rong, a Chinese bride who recently broke into the Guinness Book of World Records by wearing the world's longest wedding dress. Costing almost $6,000 and complete with 9,999 silk red roses attached to it, Lin's dress measures in at 2 km (1.2 miles) and was completely handmade by her groom's family. The former old record was set in Romania with a dress that was recorded at 1.5 km long.

Houston, We Have A Wedding!

Remember that couple we told you about awhile back that was thinking about having their wedding in Space? We'll, it looks like they did it! Noah Fulmore and Erin Finnegan Saturday became the first people on the planet to tie the knot while weightless. Finnegan wore a multilayered white gown and Fulmore donned a tuxedo with tapered tails so his coat didn't float up, up and away.
